Benjamin Novacinski

Senior Associate, Design Technology Director

Benjamin Novacinski is the Design Technology Director at Handel Architects. His focus is maintaining and advancing BIM processes, content and standards supporting the firm's daily practice. He guides and manages the firm’s digital design delivery and has over 10 years of experience implementing BIM on large-scale, technology-forward projects.

Mr. Novacinski currently oversees BIM implementation throughout the firm’s four offices and directs more than 35 full-service projects including work in New York City, Jersey City, Boston, Washington, DC, San Francisco, Dallas, Austin, and Atlanta. Projects include large mixed-use towers, such as the 1.8M SF Winthrop Center in Boston, the 600-unit residential tower at Journal Square in Jersey City, and The Stacks in Washington, DC. Mr. Novacinski also participates as a facilitator in several of Handel Architects’ Whiteboard Groups including BIM, Computation, Visualization, Sustainability, and Construction Administration.

Prior to joining Handel Architects, Mr. Novacinski worked as a Design Technician at Foster and Partners on the design and documentation of several Apple stores including The Grove in California, Hudson Yards in New York City, and Bloor Street in Toronto. Previously, he worked as both an architectural designer and BIM specialist for Bjarke Ingles Group (BIG) in New York, participating in the design and development of residential, cultural, and mixed-use projects including IQON and EPIQ Residential Towers in Quito, Ecuador; Vancouver House; Marble Collegiate Office Tower in New York City and the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC.

Mr. Novacinski holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Minnesota.
