Honyi Wang , AIA

Associate Principal

Honyi Wang is an Associate Principal at Handel Architects which he joined in 2006. He has served as both Project Manager and Project Architect on a variety of projects in and around New York City, including residential, hospitality, mixed-use, and adaptive reuse.

Mr. Wang is currently serving as Project Manager for Pacific Park, an 800-unit rental development for TFCornerstone on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn. He is also managing 8 Carlisle, a new residential tower for Grubb Properties in Manhattan’s Financial District.

Previously, Mr. Wang served as Project Manager for a new 167-unit residential building, called Garvies Point, in Glen Cove, NY. Prior to that he managed Hoyt & Horn, a new 368-unit residential building in Downtown Brooklyn for Rose Associates; Enclave at the Cathedral, a new 430-unit residential building adjacent to the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in Morningside Heights; and 170 Amsterdam, a 236-unit residential building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. He also worked on a number of renovation and adaptive reuse projects, including the Dream Downtown Hotel in West Chelsea, which involved the renovation and adaptive reuse of the Annex to the National Maritime Union into a destination hotel.

Prior to joining Handel Architects, Mr. Wang worked at Swanke Hayden Connell Architects, where he worked on a number of office building projects including the Atlantic Terminal Office Tower and 15 Metrotech Center, both in Brooklyn. He also worked at Cooper Robertson and Partners where he worked on the Fieldston School Athletic Facility in the Bronx.

Mr. Wang holds a Bachelor of Architecture and Certificate of Urban Planning from Tunghai University in Taiwan and a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University.
